Almost 15 weeks !

Here is a picture of what I look like at 14 weeks and 5 days. Getting so excited to find out the sex of our baby in just 3 weeks. Time really is flying. Meg's shower is coming up on Saturday. Just put together some adorable shower favors. Ashley Glover and Lacey Moore are hosting it with me and they've been a big help. I couldn't have done it without them.

I have a wonderful Husband !

A few nights ago, Josh came home and could tell I wasn't feeling my normal self. Pregnancy seems to put my hormones in a tailspin every now and then. :-) So he told me to go and take a bath with my new all natural mineral bath bubble bath (lavendar). I was all set up in my bath reading my pregnancy book while the bubbles were soon filling up. Josh came in with my newest Oprah magazine and a cranberry Sprite spritzer in a martini glass. He told me that he would take care of dinner so I didn't have to rush. Now THAT is a great guy ! I love my sweet husband and feel very lucky to be spending my life with him. We are SO excited for our new little addition in March.
I had a prenatal checkup two days ago and it went very well. I heard the heartbeat and they said it was above average. Ha ! Already our baby is above average ! Just kidding, I won't be one of those annoying moms who think their baby is the smartest baby out there. I'll just think they're one of the smartest. ;-)
My mom's gift to both Meg and I are stroller/travel systems for the babies. Meg's shower is coming up in October, but mine is still a ways off. In fact, there hasn't even been dates set yet. My mom however, was able to get a very good deal on purchasing two strollers at once. SO, I picked up both strollers yesterday. Mine is red and Meg's is green khaki, both the same exact stroller. I haven't put mine together yet, but it looks like a really great one. Thanks Mom and Dad !

I am now nearly 11 weeks along and really can't wait to finally be able to "officially" announce. It feels like I've known about my pregnancy for an eternity already !
When I was 8 weeks, Josh and I had our second ultrasound and it went beautifully. Amazing to hear and see the tiny fast pumping heartbeat. 175 beats per minute at 8 weeks. The doctor was very impressed by this ! Does this mean it's a boy ? I still feel so certain it's going to be a girl. We will see soon though. 5 1/2 more weeks until we get to find out.

What a fun day !

Josh joined me this morning for our first official doctors appointment where we met our OB. Her name is Dr. Heron-Davis and she's wonderful. Around the 20th week they start to filter you through all six OB's b/c it isn't certain that Heron-Davis will deliver us. The exciting news is that I am back to my original due date, March 23rd, making me 8 weeks tomorrow. Love getting to add on one more week. She determined that my fibroid is the size of a golf ball, but she isn't too worried or concerned. She said many women have several. That put my mind at ease quite a bit. She is having us come back in on Wednesday to have another ultrasound, which we are both happy about. Josh is totally cute with all of this. I had told him that I read that in order for the doctor to take the husband seriously, he needs to act assertive and ask questions. Josh did a great job with asking questions, in fact, not sure I had any to ask after he was done ! :) Josh is thrilled to come back on Wednesday to see the baby. He didn't get to do that last time. I'll be sure to post a picture.
Meg and I went to Chit Chat Baby in Fort Mill, SC today. My mom had told us that she wants to buy our baby carriages. We both picked out the same carriage and love it. It's the Peg Perego, Switch. The part where the baby sits in and turns to face you or the opposite way. It's really wonderful.

First Ultrasound appt.

My ultrasound was this past Monday. It went very well all in all. Meg came with b/c Josh was still in route to Charlotte after a longggg weekend in Vegas. The very beginning of the ultrasound was a bit disappointing because at first all the tech could see was the yolk sac. She said, "It's too early on and all we can see is the yolk sac, but it's a good sign that it is there, otherwise I'd be suspicious if you were pregnant." Total letdown. But then, low and behold, our little baby showed up, heart pumping away. We couldn't hear it, but we could certainly see it. I thought I was six weeks, but in fact, I was only measuring in at 5 so it threw me back an entire week. All you mom's out there and pregant women know that in the early stages you count every day like it's a special feat so to be thrown back a week was discouraging, but I'm glad now everything is accurate. New due date: March 29th.
I have a fibroid outside of my uterus just like Meg did and will probably have to go to a special center for frequent ultrasounds (not that I'm complaining !), but if I'm anything like Meg (and I'm a lot like her ), the fibroid will not present a problem.
I look so forward to what's to come. I just bought Mayo Clinic's Guide To a Healthy Pregnancy. I'm also reading a less serious book called Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. Totally funny and allows for some comic relief right before my nap. :)

All is good !

To give an update, my HCG levels came back this past Monday and more than doubled. I will go for my first ultrasound on Monday (4 days from today) to hopefully hear the heartbeat or at least to see the heartbeat. Poor Josh will be traveling back from Las Vegas so he unfortunately won't be able to come with, but Meg will be there taking video. I'll surely post it on my blog. More good news to report on Monday, God Willing.

5 weeks today

Well, I am officially 5 weeks today. I know it is SUPER early to be blogging b/c I'm not through my first trimester yet, but I can only go by the feelings I have and the prayers that are given. I will find out today if my HCG levels are continuing to rise. I did not sleep well at all last night. I am so sore in certain places and crampy all at the same time. It makes sleeping difficult. There is also some truth behind, "A pregnant woman should not feel hungry, but should not feel like she's overeaten." Well, I completely overate last night and paid for it.
A week from today is our first ultrasound where we may possibly be able to hear the heartbeat. Wouldn't that be something !
