Okay Rick and Mollie, I am FINALLY updating my blog. You'll be very happy now, right? :) Our little Libby is now almost 7 months old. It's hard to believe how quickly this year is flying by. I guess it's no wonder though, when you have so much love and happiness in your life, the days seem to speed by.

Libby is now crawling from room to room, place to place. We have yet to babyproof the house and she has taken some tumbles, but doesn't seem too phased. She's now holding on to furniture and pulling herself up to standing position. She watches her cousin Colston and is repeating what he is doing.
BIG NEWS FLASH: Libby just began to say her first word this week. "Ma ma." Not sure if she knows exactly that when she says it, she is calling for her mom, but needless to say, it's as clear as day, "ma ma". Gotta say, I love hearing those words. I'm sure "da da" will be right around the corner. When I go to pick her up, I say "Up?" and she raises her arms toward me. She associates the word "Up" with being held in my arms. I was mentioning this to my friend Mollie last night and she said that for being 6 1/2 months, this is pretty advanced. Her eldest, Caroline, was saying words like "flower" by the time she was 8 months. Hmmm...Could we be so lucky? Seems to be headed in that direction! :) Oh gosh, I'm that mom!!!
Here are some recent pictures of our ever growing Libby.

Libby is growing so fast!

Well, I haven't been doing a very good job at all with updating my blog. To be honest, I'm not sure even who reads it so it hasn't been keeping me motivated. BUT, I was looking back at my blog and realized that I should really be doing this for myself because it's very nostalgic to look back and see my stages of pregnancy and how I felt and went through. This is thee most special time in my life so why shouldn't I document it? Even if it's just adding pictures. As Beverly said, (my sister's mother in law) just adding pictures is sometimes enough. Josh and I love our little baby girl and we're so thrilled to have her with us each and every day. Here are some recent pictures. :)

She's Here!!!

Our little Elizabeth Cohn Phillips is going to be three weeks tomorrow. It's hard to believe how quickly these three weeks have flown by. I have my little angel sitting on the couch beside me right now and who knows just how long she'll let me type. She really is a good baby. She's been sleeping in her swing in our bedroom at night and we wake her up to eat. She is really amazing. Although we have to make the crib transition this weekend, the pediatrician didn't love the idea of her sleeping in her swing. Whoopsies!
Libby found her fingers and now can soothe herself, mostly....:)

So tomorrow is the big day!! March 24, 2010 is the day when our little lovebug will arrive into this world.
We had a doctor appt. yesterday and he told me that Libby is about 8 1/2 or maybe even closer to 9 lbs and he gave us all the pros and cons of each type of delivery. My cervix is still completely unfavorable for an induction. Our two choices were to wait it out (and have Libby continue to grow!) or schedule a c section. We feel very comfortable with our decison.
We'll wake up at 4 a.m., go into the hospital at 5 a.m., surgery is at 7:15 a.m., and we'll be meeting our baby at around 8 a.m.
My mom is flying in tonight and my dad is driving down tomorrow morning. They'll stay for a while and then both drive back. CJ and Lauren arrive April 5th and stay until the following Saturday. We'll have plenty of hands on deck and we'll need it with me being so sore after surgery.
We are above the moon and can't wait for tomorrow to come!

When will we meet her?

So, last week, Josh and I went in for my weekly checkup AND for an ultrasound that our doctor ordered. She wanted to see exactly how big Libby was measuring b/c she said my stomach was measuring very large. The ultrasound showed that last week she was 7 lbs. 6 oz. We were told that the US can be a pound or two off in either direction, but the doctor said given the size of my abdomen, she's guessing it's either accurate, or she's a bit heavier than that!! Hello....
She brought up the subject of a C section in case that becomes a possibility. She said b/c of my small frame, a regular birth might not be an option at the time of delivery b/c of her size. I wasn't even thinking along the lines of a section, ever! I did read up on it though and at least feel educated on the subject in case that's what has to occur.
I'm 38 weeks today and tomorrow I have another checkup with the doctor. She'll measure my belly again and I guess tell me her thoughts. Then the following Tuesday, (39 weeks), she's ordered another US to see how much larger the baby has grown. This will confirm a C section delivery (and we'll have an actual date), or will tell her that we're good to go naturally. It's all just so UP IN THE AIR! These last two weeks will be the waiting game, I have a feeling.
The good news is, Libby could come tonight and this house would be geared up and ready for her arrival. The nursery is finished head to toe (chair and ottoman were picked up yesterday) and I have all the diapers and baby wipes to last, hmmm.... two weeks? :) Yea, those don't last very long. I have our hand sanitizer out for when guests visit and my good friend Elizabeth set up our Meals To Go-where friends choose a date to bring over a dinner so we don't have to cook for a while. My parents are on call for the first week and then we'll have a couple days with just Libby and then Josh's mom and sister are on call for the following week. We should be in good hands. :) Now all we need is Elizabeth Cohn Phillips!!!

Erin's Showers

I am a lucky girl. I had two baby showers for Libby. One was last Friday, February 19th, My LAST DAY OF TEACHING, and the other was the next day on Saturday. My team at work really made my shower special. Genetia on the kindergarten team, made me a diaper cake and Brooke had the cutest little favors made up; a picture of pregnant me on a bag of microwavable popcorn with the words "Please pop before March 23, 2010." So funny. Tricia made adorable pink and white cupcakes with a teeny pacifier on the top of each one. They went all out for me and it made me feel really special.
Then on Saturday, Mollie, my dear dear friend from Winston Salem, Ashley, my dear friend from Ocala Florida, and my dear sis had a bbay shower for me at Meg's house. When I got there, the three of them were busy decorating with Lily Pulitzer decorations that Ashley had brought. Meg made me a diaper cake, totally adorable. She also put together little candy pacifiers that were sprinkled over the food table. Everything was done to perfection and I was all smiles that day. There were nearly 30 women there to help me celebrate the arrival of little Libby and when I looked around the room, it was such a special feeling to be able to say that they were all there to support me and love me. I received some very amazing gifts. Here are some pictures of both showers.
